Comfort

    Arthur looked up to where his friend sat perched on the wall. He smiled a little to himself. He knew she would be there. She always was whenever she was most upset.

    “Hullo, Licy,” he called up gently to her.

    She looked down at him and quickly tried to wipe away the traces of her tears.

    “Oh, hello, Arthur,” she replied.

    “You know,” he smiled, climbing up the wall towards his feline friend, “I think this is the only unladylike thing that I’ve ever seen you do.”

    The brownish orange cat rested her chin on her paw and sighed.

    “I have always liked this spot – ever since I was a child.”

    The white rat sat down beside the cat and folded his arms over his knees. “It does give a nice view.”

    Felicity tried to smile. Arthur reached out his thin tail and curled it round the fluffy tail of his companion. He said nothing, but a wordless guarantee passed between them.

    “You are my best friend, and I will always be there for you, no matter what.”

Jeez it's about time I drew these two again! I love them so much! For I time I thought that maybe they'd become a couple at some point, but they soon made it clear to me that "coupling" was out of the question. Apparently they are asexual. And anyway, who needs more romance after all that's already stuffed in our faces from tv and movies? Friendship is FANTASTIC! Hooray for friendship! Especially that rare friendship between a man and a woman (or in this case a guy rat and a female cat ) that doesn't turn into "anything else" after a while.

(so Felicity's face is all wrong but oh well I spent forever on this and couldn't get it right darn it!)
