My Friend, My Enemy

    [“You may shoot me, Sir, but allow me this one small favor – to look into the face of my murderer. Remove your mask; let me see you before I die.”

      The assassin’s pale hand quivered. He gripped his pistol so tightly his knuckles turned white.

     “I should just shoot you!” he cried, his voice clearly disguised. His left hand was clenched tightly, his palm sweating.

    “But why?” the detective asked. “Why not allow me to see your face first? The dead cannot describe the face of their killers.” He paused, looking closely at the man who stood before him. “Unless… you are someone I know...”

    The assassin flinched, his blue eyes widened, and his breath came in quick, heavy gasps.

    “Turn around! Turn around!” he shouted, his voice cracking.

    The detective did not move. “If you wish to shoot me, you will have to do it while looking into my face.”

    The other man moved uneasily. He swore. “Just turn around!” Panic was in his voice now, and a tear dripped out of his eye.

    “No, my friend,” the words were drawn out poignantly. “I will not.”]

Can you guess what happens next? Some of you know what happens. (or at least, I've discussed this plot with several of you, there is, of course, no garantee you'll remember it since it was quite a while ago. )

This is actually a scene from a movie I intend on making someday. (Ask me about if if you want to know details, there's too much to write out here) I just saw this picture geeknation.com/geek/wp-content… and I thought of my idea right away and I just had to draw it! Actually this picture dorkshelf.com/wordpress/wp-con… reminds me of another part of the story, so I may draw that sometime too
