The Way We Used To Be

Tried a new style yesterday for pre-cyborg Ireneaus and his best friend at that point, Captain (eventually General) Blac. I'm still working on finding a first name for Blac, and a last name for Irene. Any ideas?

Yeah, so Blac is obviously in the military. Irene met him through his (Irene's) father, with whom he (Blac) worked. They just sorta clicked and became really good friends. They would literally do everything together. Some people saw it as a little strange, since Blac is a fair bit older than Irene, but that never particularly bothered the two of them. They were inseparable. The only way in which they were slightly at odds was their view on cyborgs. Blac, who considered himself a patriot, thought them lesser life forms, parasites, which should be gotten rid of or at least completely subdued, Irene, who was somewhat more complacent, had some small amount of sympathy for their equality cause. But they never really argued much about it. But then suddenly, everything changed. Irene was horribly injured when an old ruin he and Blac were exploring caved in on them. Blac was badly hurt as well. Irene was found, unconscious and barely alive, by a group of cyborgs who had a colony in the area. He was taken back to their colony and nursed back to health, and given all of his cyborg parts. They hadn't seen Blac, who was later found by a group of full humans and taken to the hospital. Blac was alright, but never fully healed. He had to use a cane from then on. Irene, now a cyborg himself, tried to go back to his family and friends, but he was shunned. When at last he went to Blac, expecting his best friend at least to except him, he found no sympathy. Blac told him it would have been better for him to die, than to be turned into a cyborg. Angry, hurt, and fully of confusion, Irene fled to a cyborg colony and became a rebel and cyborg activist.
