They are useful, these traitors... by GoodOldBaz They are useful, these traitors... by GoodOldBaz
"The Irish-American had entered the study and stretched his long limbs from the armchair. He was a tall, gaunt man of sixty, with clear-cut features and a small goatee beard which gave him a general resemblance to the caricatures of Uncle Sam. A half-smoked, sodden cigar hung from the corner of his mouth, and as he sat down he struck a match and relit it."   - His Last Bow by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Basil Rathbone's Holmes disguised as Altamont from His Last Bow. Although, I say "Basil Rathbone's Holmes," when really, I could pretty much say canon Holmes because Rathbone's features are practically canon to me. :XD:

Somehow that "horrible goatee" doesn't seem quite as "horrible" as I meant it to... ah well, I'm just happy it actually looks like a goatee, at least, I think it does. :) Just saying this was super fun to paint. I haven't painted like this in a while and I really enjoyed it, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I hope you all like it as well.

Hey, awesome job! It's always neat to try and draw minor characters from books who haven't really been portrayed on the screen or in much fanart before. I think you did a great job matching the description! And great job painting too... ironically, though my mom paints all the time and I've been around it since I was born, I can't paint fine details (like this) to save my proverbial life.... :XD:

thanks greatly dear! I'm really glad you think it's good!
oh I'm sure your paintings are super! I just used a small brush for the details, and rested my elbow on my knee so my hand didn't shake as much, and that was it. nothing special. :)

Aww, well, it's really been ages since I've even tried, and I would always make them all splotchy, even with tiny brushes... ^^; Photoshop's more my thing, I guess. I dunno, maybe I'll try again someday. I actually need to try a realistic drawing sometime too, paint or no....

Anyways, nice job. :)
