Now, for the big butt description of this picture:
Sangrie was born with white magic so strong that even as a child he protected his village from all harm. The gift which signified these powers were his wings – beautiful white wings like a doves, which sprouted from his back near his shoulder blades. When he was in his early twenties a group of red pirating wizards ruled by a spirit vampire raided his village for slaves. During a particularly brutal attack by several pirates at one time his left wing was cut off by a magical sword one of them had. Losing his wing momentarily crippled his magic. The spirit vampire immediately sensed his opponent’s weakness and attempted to posses him, seeing the benefit of being inside the body of such a powerful wizard would be to him (what this picture illustrates). Because of his strong innate white magic the spirit wasn’t able to completely take him over, but the strain of struggling against such a strong demon snapped something inside him, and he was never quite sane again. Now neither could be separated from the other. Although Sangrie was an unusually powerful magician, there were too many pirates for him, especially now that he was hindered by the spirit inside him, and his village was overrun and those who were not killed were taken as slaves. Sangrie struggled with the spirit for control of his body, but eventually he won briefly and ran into the nearby woods to hide. He knew he was a danger to surrounding villages because he could not always control what he was doing. Years went by and Sangrie soon found that the spirit within him had made him immortal. Over this time he constantly struggled with the spirit, physically and emotionally, turning him wild and unstable. Eventually he and the spirit came to a kind of understanding, putting their powers together to become more powerful than ever. With his powers restored and even heightened, Sangrie magically replaces his lost angel wing with a bat wing, representative of the demon inside him. He still did not trust himself to live among mortals (since even with their agreement, they still struggled constantly, causing violent and dangerous reactions) so he became a sort of consulting magician so that only people who are not too afraid to visit him would be in potential danger. As time went by his power grows, and so did his ego. Although he attempted to help people, many flaws overtake him, specifically self-centeredness, and he become feared throughout the land as the most powerful magician in the world.
